First Epistle of John

This course is designed to provide an overview of The First Epistle of John. In his letter, the Apostle John addresses three major problems that loomed over the 1st century Church: Christological heresies, moral indifferentism and arrogant lovelessness. The theme of 1 John, Christian certainty, is especially relevant for today’s society, which is marked by relativism and fluidity. 1 John is a confident proclamation that believers can be certain about Christ and eternal life. The purpose of John’s letter is that those “who believe” may also “know” (1 John 5:13).
